Medico-legal services

At Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Edinburgh and Spire Livingston Clinic, we never compromise our commitment to exceptional standards. Recognised as centres of excellence for physiotherapy, we have built our reputation on personal specialised attention and our patients and business customers remain our number one priority. As part of our portfolio of clinical services we offer a range of options for medico-legal customers.

Expert and second opinions

Our highly skilled and qualified musculoskeletal outpatient staff are able to assess, examine and give an opinion on a range of troublesome conditions;

  • Repetitive strain injury (RSI) or Work related upper limb disorder (WRULD)
  • Chronic or recurrent neck pain
  • Chronic or recurrent back pain
  • Joint, nerve and muscle injuries
  • Whiplash associated disorders (WAD)

A full report is produced detailing the condition, contributing factors and a prognosis. Treatment plans and ongoing care can also be provided.

Assessment and treatment for medico-legal patients

The Physiotherapy department is able to offer a full range of therapeutic services to medico-legal patients. We will establish a clinical diagnosis and deliver against a specified treatment plan. (For our centre of excellence in treatment of back and neck pain see Back and Neck Clinic)

Physiotherapy treatment record review

A service is available for the review and consideration of physiotherapy treatment records. A detailed report will subsequently be produced. For further details or to enquire about access to Medico-legal services, please contact the Physiotherapy manager on 0131-316-2537
